Carepa, Urabá. This part of town is known as "Invasión". Everyone who lives here has been evicted by the riot police once already, but they have returned to rebuild their homes. Poor people with nowhere to live, many of them displaced by violence either nearby or further afield, come to urban areas to find a spot to build. In this case the only place to build near Carepa city is an area of very high vulnerability to natural disasters because of the changing course of the river that threatens to flood the area. The municpality have warned everyone that it is illegal and dangerous to build here and that they will use the riot police to evict them. People here hold on to the hope that either they won't be evicted, or that the municipality will relocate them in a safer area.
