On July 25, 1966, approximately 250 persons attending the World Conference on Church and Society, Geneva, marched from the Ecumenical Centre to the place des Nations, in front of the United Nations' building. The march was prposed by the conference youth of many nations. Participants marched "to affirm and support the vision of a just and peaceful world embodied in that very ideal". Miss Charlotte Bunch and Mr Gerald McWharter of the USA were among the march leaders.
