The WCC Executive Committee and staff gathered for Morning Prayer in the Chapel at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin in Armenia.
The Morning Prayer was lead by the Archbishop Dr Vicken Aykazian, Armenian Apostolic Church. The reading was from John 8:12
"Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, 'I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life'."
The Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin in Armenia is the spiritual and administrative headquarters of the worldwide Armenian Church. The Mother Cathedral built by Sankt Gregory the Illuminator and King Trdat III, has stood as a symbol against time of the Armenian faith, nation and people. No other silhoutte is so well recognized by Armenians the world over.
The majority of buildings and monuments were built from the 17th centrury on.
