In 2006, the Ecumenical Advocacy Alliance’s Trade for People Campaign commissioned FIAN International (FoodFirst Information and Action Network) to undertake a study aimed at analysing whether the Right to Food of specific communities has been violated as a result of trade liberalisation. The research was carried out in 2007 looking at the impact of trade liberalization on the right to food of rice farming communities in Indonesia, Honduras and Ghana.
