The Vigil of Dignity was a WCC co-sponsored event that took place in Rio, on August 1st 2016. The event brought together over 25 faith leaders of different faith expressions and representatives from more than 50 national and international civil society organizations. The main goal of the event was to affirm the values of human rights as a way of life and the true spirit of the Olympic games, stressing that the poorest ones should not be excluded.
