The general secretary of the World Council of Churches (WCC), the Rev. Dr Olav Fykse Tveit, visited the Evangelical Church in Baden in December 2016 to learn about the church's work with refugees.
The drop-in and encounter centre “K26†in Ettlingen provided another example of the secular authorities, churches and other civil society groups working hand in hand: The town offers this space to initiatives organizing activities that bring together locals and refugees as well as other groups that risk being marginalized, such as people with disabilities or the elderly.
