The General Secretary of the World Council of Churches, Rev. Dr Olav Fykse Tveit, gave an interview to the West German Broadcast Company during the General Synod of the EKD in Bonn Germany, that coincided with the United Nations climate change conference COP23 in the same city. During the interview he emphasised the importance of the involvement of churches in resolving the climate change crisis, acting to protect creation and defend our brothers and sisters who are already suffering severe effects of climate change, such as those in the Pacific region.
