In Ferguson, Saint Louis, Missouri the delegation was received by Rev. Dr. F. Willis Johnson at the Wellspring Church and had conversation about the post-Ferguson climate in the area. They also had the opportunity as a group to pay respect to Michael Brown by visiting the site where he was killed, and prayed as a group for peace, justice and healing. The WCC delegation also met with and listened to local church leaders who have been involved in the protests in Ferguson. The Civil Rights Movement skipped Saint Louis. During the Ferguson demonstrations, the clergy worked hard to step out of the events in order to give space to the youth so that God could speak through them. The ‪#‎BlackLivesMatter‬ demonstrations completely transformed the ministry of local churches.
